Smokeys
Try an American-style Christmas, with smoked BBQ delights from Smokeys! Located on Brighton seafront within the Granville Hotel, this is a relaxed American-inspired roadside restaurant, perfect for informal Christmas parties, with a mouth-watering BBQ menu. Opt for either two courses (£19.95) or go all-out with their mammoth three course offering (£25.95). Fancy something even bigger? Take on the challenge of Smokeys blow out platter; including a selection of meaty pork ribs, beef brisket, pulled pork and smoked chicken thighs. Go big or go home!
Breeze Brasserie
In the heart of North Laine, Breeze Brasserie is a great option for those looking for a fun festive celebration, with a chilled Brighton vibe! This laid-back venue has an industrial vintage style, with exposed brick work and cool interiors. Tempting our Christmas taste buds for 2015 are crab open ravioli, roast turkey and Chinese spiced duck breast and confit duck spring rolls, to name but just a few mains. Head there between 11:30am – 3pm to enjoy a three course lunch for just £18.95 per person, or for dinner, from just £27.95.
The Creperie
Not a fan of turkey? Enjoy a cheese fondue, instead at The Creperie on Ship Street! This year’s Christmas menu is an alternative option to the more traditional tastes and great for veggies and meat-eaters alike. Start with a cheese fondue, crusty bread and either a delicious meat or vegetarian platter, finished off with your choice of a sweet crepe (when in Rome!) or tempting scoops of Gelato Gusto ice cream, and all washed down with a carafe of wine, per person, for just £18.95 each (minimum two people).
Agua Dulce
Opened nine years ago, and just having recently re-opened after an exciting refurbishment, this traditional, family run restaurant certainly brings those sensational Spanish flavours to Brighton. Indulge in their authentic tapas such as patatas alioli (potatoes with garlic mayonnaise), champinones al pil pil (garlic mushrooms) and calamares fritos (fried calamari), or try one of their famous homemade paellas! Stanmer House
Fancy escaping bustling Brighton for your festive ‘do? Stanmer House, is a Grade I listed manor house, in the oasis of Stanmer Park (just a ten minute drive from the centre of town). This year Stanmer House are shaking things up with a Festive Forest – a great option for a magical Christmas get together without the fuss! With an outdoor BBQ, cooking up bratwurst, tofu and herb sausages, homemade beef burgers and free range turkey burgers, along with toadstool seating and outdoor heaters, guests can truly soak up the alfresco festive atmosphere. On Saturday night’s there is also a DJ playing tunes to take you and your dancing feet into the early hours.
The Coal Shed
A firm favourite restaurant to visit all year round, thanks to its simplicity and expertly cooked, high quality ingredients; the Coal Shed’s Christmas menu, is definitely one for all of you Brighton foodies! With sumptuous starters such as lobster bisque and smoked duck, mighty mains including rib eye steak and venison, and not forgetting divine desserts like; chocolate chai ice cream and clementine cheesecake, from just £45 (for three courses), we’re sure this central Brighton restaurant will get booked up, well before the big day.
Riddle and Finns
Christmas, champagne and oysters go hand-in-hand don’t they? And there’s only one place (or should we say two?) for this in Brighton – Riddle and Finns. Located in the historic Lanes and right on the beach (the latter accepts reservations), this seafood restaurant is certainly a place that subtly says celebration. It’s not just about the caviar, fizz and oysters though; the varied menu also boasts fresh fish, seafood and wine options., including pan fried Brighton scallops, Keralan fish curry and whole grilled lobster. For the ultimate, intimate Christmas party, why not hire out the beach restaurant’s private dining room, seating ten?
Terre a Terre
An iconic and award-winning Brighton vegetarian restaurant, Terre a Terre on East Street is a must-visit mecca for veggie-lovers, vegans and even meat-eaters, alike. This year, the longstanding Brighton institution (who have been serving up indulgent meals for twenty-one years!) has put together a three course party menu, to include fizz and nibbles for just £34.95. Starting with a picky party platter, guests can then choose from three inventive main courses (of which all are or can be made gluten free and two can be made vegan) and finishing off with a pudding plate!
Curry Leaf Café
This South Indian street food café, may have only been open just over a year but it’s received critical acclaim from industry experts, key foodies and Brighton residents. And with such flavoursome dishes, we can see why! This Christmas, Curry Leaf Café have a festive menu that includes traditional dishes (samosa chaat, pork vindaloo and seasonal sorbet) and also more unusual options that we may be yet to try (swede and sweet potato karwari, Madurai seabass kozhambu and dry fruit and coconut rice pradhaman) for £23.00 for two courses and £28.00 for three.
OhSo
Brighton’s beachfront party venue is transforming into a winter wonderland, just in time for the celebratory season! With sparkly, starry lighting, snug and sumptuous furniture and buffet or three course packages; it’s the perfect place to hold your Christmas party! OhSo’s resident DJ will be spinning the decks ‘till late, so grab those dancing shoes and dress to impress.
Silo
Being the UK’s first zero waste restaurant, you just know that you’ll be in for something exciting, especially during a Christmas visit. Everything eaten at Silo is created in-house, using food sources that fully respect the natural order, allowing ingredients to be just as they are – without any unnecessary processing or hidden nasties. Even Silo’s fixtures, fittings and furniture are re-used, recycled and made from materials that would have been wasted. Langlee’s
If you haven’t yet heard of this York Place gem (near London Road), you better visit, pronto! Opening its doors in 2010, Langlee’s was created with reasonably priced, homemade food and having a great, friendly atmosphere, in mind. As well as a festive menu (available until 24th December) with two courses priced at just £16.99 and three courses from £19.99, owners Michael and Lee will also be welcoming diners on Christmas Day for a deliciously traditional three course meal, costing only £35.00 per head! The New Club
With its sea view and uber cool vibe (not to mention, amazing cocktails), we’re sure New Club will be busy this Christmas with party goers! Choose from two set menu options (two courses for £28.00/ three courses for £32.00) with tempting dishes such as peppered pumpkin soup, roasted organic turkey breast and sticky fig pudding, and pear Bellini welcome cocktail, or festive buffets (£16.50/ £20.00 per head) to get that party started in New Club style!
The Old Bank
Well-known for their steak and ribs, The Old Bank in Kemptown, is welcoming guests for a fabulous festive three course menu between 1st-24th December (£25 per person) and on Christmas Day and Boxing Day too (£50 per head)! The restaurant, which is in an historic, former bank building, in the heart of bohemian Kemptown, has created a festive menu incorporating; sharing platter starters, traditional main courses (turkey with all the trimmings!) and deserts (homemade Christmas pudding) as well as more unusual options, including their famous steak!
The House Restaurant
The House is an independently run family bistro, in the gorgeous setting of a double fronted Victorian building, really giving festive celebrations an elegant home-from-home feel. On the Christmas three feast menu this year, are luxurious dishes such as pan roasted turkey ballotine, braised three meat game and port stew, roast fillet of wild salmon and farmers choice market vegetable wellington. The Xmas menu (£27.50) is available every day throughout December, bar Christmas Day. This intimate and friendly venue can be privately hired and also has private dining rooms.
The Glass House
Celebrate Christmas in the country and away from the busy shoppers of central Brighton, by visiting The Glass House restaurant, at Wickwoods Country Club, in Albourne. Party Nights are held in their Garden Suite (£35.50 per person to include a three course menu, with locally sourced ingredients, party poppers, crackers and a DJ), which holds up to 140 guests and has its own bar. After all that dancing, guests can also stay over in one of the hotel’s deluxe rooms. Just remember to book early!
Crafty Chooks
This relaxed bar and rotisserie on Second Avenue, Hove is available for festive bookings from the beginning of December until mid-January. Choose from their Bronze, Silver and Gold packages, ranging from £13.50 to £42.00 per person or get those glad rags on and join in with Crafty’s Christmas Party Nights. On Thursday 10th and 17th December, party-goers are invited to join for cava and canapes, a Christmas buffet and extended cava and cocktails happy hour, starting from 7:30pm.
Food for Friends
Expect festive flavours with that unique Food for Friends twist at Brighton’s first vegetarian restaurant! Delicious dishes such as Celeriac, pumpkin seed and nut roulade with rosemary potato gallete, Grilled King Oyster mushroom with Jerusalem artichoke mousse and Almond and pine nut fritters, all make for mouth-watering mains on their three course festive menu (£25.00), available throughout December. Mulled wine and hot cider will also be available too!
Coggings and Co
Who doesn’t love a Coggings and Co burger? This relatively new Brighton burger company, based on Dyke Road, has recently been rated one of the best restaurants for burgers in the city and with an emphasis on local ingredients, cooked with skill and care; we can see why. From 1st – 24th December, Coggings and Co will be serving up sharing platter starters, burgers (including beef, turkey, pork and parsnip and chestnut) and divine deserts for just £21.95 for three courses. All meals must be booked in advance!
Browns Brighton
Opening in 1973, and the first restaurant for this small and sophisticated chain, Brighton’s Browns brasserie and bar is a great central base for festive drinks and dinner. Whether you fancy more traditional dishes or are a fan of adventurous flavours, there’s something for all tastes on Browns’ range of festive menus – available at lunch time, evening, weekends, on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve!
