Get ready for a long weekend of fun and discovery as you spot the signs of spring, and experience nature bursting into life at the special places the National Trust looks after.
From creating wild art to waddling like a duckling the trails have been designed to tickle the senses and immerse little ones in the natural world.
And of course, each National Trust Easter adventure in nature trail ends with a chocolate egg, made here in the UK using cocoa responsibly sourced from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms.
There are over 180 Easter trails to choose from across England, Wales and Northern Ireland and 8 in Sussex.

Nymans

Magnolias are blooming and birds are busy building their nests at Nymans in springtime. Listen to the birdsong of the robins, wrens and blackbirds and get busy in the garden on your own Easter adventure. The Easter trail leads you through hidden doorways and the Wall Garden. Try out fun challenges such as hiding like a mouse, finding your favourite flower and tuning into the natural world all around you.

Sheffield Park and Garden
Easter adventures in nature trail, 2 to 24 April
Explore an Easter trail among the spring bulbs and shimmering lakes at Sheffield Park and Garden. Find and complete 10 nature-inspired activities that are hiding along the way. A butterfly count, creating nature art and taking time to study nature’s palette up close are just some of the activities you can experience, in the vibrant spring flora and fauna of Sheffield Park.

Standen
Easter adventures in nature trail, 9 to 24 April
On the Easter trail at Standen, see wonderful views of the Weald from the top garden and try nature activities in the kitchen garden. There are bold displays of tulips, banks of daffodils and fritillaries around the garden and Easter challenges to be discovered. Have a go at your own nature art and discover a spring display of crocheted flowers to celebrate the season.

Petworth
Easter adventures in nature trail, 9 to 24 April
Collect your activity sheet from the shepherd’s hut, then set off along the Pleasure Garden’s winding paths at Petworth House, on an Easter nature trail among the spring blossom. Measure how tall you are compared to a fallow deer. Fly like a bird into a giant bird’s nest. Find the mouse in its woodland house scene and add crochet blossom to a tree at the end of the trail. Don’t forget to admire the bluebells and views along the way.

Bateman’s
Easter adventures in nature trail, 2 to 18 April
Some of the best-known children’s books were written at and inspired by Bateman’s. As Rudyard Kipling’s family home, this charming garden has a river running through it, hedges to hide behind and plenty of space to run around. For the Easter school holidays, a new adventures in nature trail will challenge little ones to look for frogspawn, be a ‘hedge detective’ and create a nature story inspired by their literary surroundings.

Bodiam Castle
Easter adventures in nature trail, 9 to 18 April
One of the most perfect moated medieval castles in the land. The towers, reflected in the water, look as they would have done 600 years ago. This is a place where you can relive your childhood memories and let your imagination run riot. As you enter under the 600-year-old portcullis, look out for the murder holes, and medieval graffiti on the sandstone walls.
On the Easter trail take in the view of Bodiam Castle and the surrounding countryside as you tick off the activity list. Look or listen out for a chiffchaff among birds singing in the castle grounds and find springtime reflections in the moat.

Uppark House and Garden

Uppark’s Easter trail travels through different landscapes, with sensory trail points that draw you into the garden’s natural world. In the nearby woods, take a really good look at what’s growing beneath your feet. Can you pick out any woodland smells or sounds? In the meadow by the house you’ll hear bees buzzing on a sunny day – write down what sounds you make when you’re busy, and discover some quirky bee facts.
