“The puppetry itself is supreme.. charming and wildly creative..” Puppet Centre – Animations Online
An original adaptation created by the company, with spellbinding music and puppets, the show runs at 55 minutes and draws on episodes from ‘Adventures in Wonderland’ and ‘Through the Looking Glass’.
Box Tale Soup’s version of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland won ‘Best Family Show’ at Buxton Fringe, and was nominated for ‘Best Event for Children’ during its previous Brighton Fringe outing. The show has toured all over the UK, and enjoyed sell-out performances in Beijing, China. Featuring a cast of just two human performers, a dozen colourful puppets and a beautiful set that unfolds from a vintage trunk, from the surprising appearance of the Cheshire Cat to the madness of the Tea Party, this is a constantly inventive and refreshing take on Carroll’s classic work.
Box Tale Soup first appeared at Brighton Fringe in 2013, winning an Argus Angel Award, and their previous family shows have enjoyed sell-out performances at the Festival. After performing their Little Grimm Tales on the beach in 2020, Box Tale Soup are looking forward to returning to Brighton audiences in 2021!
