Award winning Unmasked Theatre return to The Rialto Theatre with two bold and important pieces of new writing.

After premiering to critical acclaim at The Space last year as part of Good Cop Bad Cop Festival at The Space Arts Centre, London, we’ve teamed up with Rising Tides, a theatre company specialising in theatre around the climate crisis for a genuine environmental comedy, Accidental Birth of an Anarchist.

Following Alice and Lia, two climate activists who have gotten on a North Sea Oil Rig with the sole intention of staging a sit-in protest. With a plan almost, but not quite ready, and weather conditions worsening, the two women find themselves in a situation that not only threatens to uncover them, but also puts everyones’ lives at risk. A comedy about the Climate Crisis, activism, The Little Chef and finding common ground with the enemy.

Rising Tides and Award winning Unmasked Theatre present Luke Ofield’s (The Writers’ Bloc) play for five performances at The Rialto Theatre. Directed by Neil Sheppeck (Love and Madness) and starring Michael Jayes (‘Allo, ‘Allo, Wings)  Pip O’Neill (Between Two Waves), Aurea Williamson (Rebel Boob) and Gabriel Thomson (My Family, Enemy at The Gates)

Hot on it’s heels comes the winner of the postponed 2020 edition of The Brighton Scratch Night, Harriet O’Neill’s debut play, A Very Great Mischief .

1921. In a world of post-war liberation, homosexual acts between men are illegal and female homosexuality is outright denied. As she prepares to confront her parents and a society that ignores the legitimacy of her feelings, one question looms large for Victoria: Can she ever be true to herself?

Directed by Joanna Rosenfeld, running for five performances
