Back by popular demand…Laser Light City returns to Worthing

The spectacular digital interactive light show – Laser Light City by BAFTA winning artists Seb Lee – Delisle, will return to illuminate Worthing’s sky line on the evenings of 16th and 17th December 2021, thanks to the efforts of Time for Worthing.

Following the popularity of this event in 2020 – visitors and residents will once again get an opportunity to control the giant laser show from their mobile phones. By registering via the https://laserlight.city/ website users will join a queue and get the chance to direct lasers, which will shine out from the end of Worthing pier between 6pm and 11pm.

Part funded by Worthing Borough Council, this year’s event has been made possible thanks to additional sponsorship from the Worthing Town Centre Initiative, full fibre network providers CityFibre and Sussex based full fibre broadband providers No One.

Darren Elsom, Director at No On said ’No One does technology better and we are delighted to be supporting Worthing’s laser show this year. As a full fibre provider we love lasers but these lasers are much bigger than the ones we use! Watching technology in action is really cool and it will be amazing to see the reside nts of Worthing control the laser’s from their mobile phones.’

Laser Light City producer  Seb Lee-Delisle said, ‘I’m so happy to be invited back to Worthing, the Southern Pavilion is one of my favourite sites for the lasers as the beams are so visible against the dark skies. Thousands took part in the event last time and this year we’re hopeful that we’ll see even greater numbers taking control of the lasers from across the seafront. I love bringing people together in a shared experience that is out of the ordinary, and it’s something that is especially valuable these days.’

New for 2021, in addition to Laser Light City another free innovative digital experience will be available to residents and visitors. The Lemonade app which is available on Apple and Android has been designed to complement the Laser Light City. Music composed by local artists will be accessible along the coast from East to West Worthing and will be picked up by the app as the user moves along. Lemonade will be available to download for from December 13th.
