Baros Celebrates a Decade of Being ‘The Indian Ocean’s Most Romantic Resort’
A decade on, the private Maldivian-owned boutique island resort of Baros Maldives is delighted to have been awarded the title of ‘The Indian Ocean’s Most Romantic Resort’ for the tenth consecutive year at the annual World Travel Awards 2022. For nearly 50 years, the iconic resort has offered excellent service, complete privacy and opulent island living for it’s guests and is the perfect paradise for those couples on honeymoon, looking to celebrate an anniversary or simply enjoy a special retreat.
The Resort Manager of Baros, Ibrahim Shijah, expressed his thanks on behalf of all those associated with Baros, saying ‘It is an honour and privilege to deliver magical moments to our beloved guests and to be recognised as the most romantic destination in the Indian Ocean for the tenth consecutive year. We are determined to deliver enchanting romance and intimacy on Baros and continuously seek to create the most extraordinary romantic moments. With new offers and experiences, we are looking to take the romance at Baros to a new height and deliver our guests the ultimate romantic escape’.
Baros prides itself on it’s personalised approach and unique experiences. The resort even offers guests a programme dedicated to romance – ‘Romantic Moments’ – which features special inclusions such as a sunset cruise with champagne and canapes, 60 minute couples massages and a private candlelit dinner on the beach. This year Baros is excited to introduce additional romantic offerings for all it’s guests including a movie night on the iconic Piano Deck, floating in the lagoon, and a bespoke cruise on Nooma, the resort’s traditional Maldivian Dhoni.
Baros is a boutique, private island of 75 overwater and beachside garden villas and white sand beaches set in a turquoise lagoon, just 25 minutes by speedboat from the Maldives International Airport. Guests can relax in a tranquil, tropical setting, embark on an amazing culinary journey in Baros’ three restaurants and bars, dine on a secluded sandbank or the unique Piano Deck in the middle of the lagoon as well as take part in memorable snorkelling experiences around the flourishing house-reef. The resort has been welcoming guests since 1973, and has spent decades honing its services and cultivating its environment, making it a legendary resort.
Established in 1993, the World Travel Awards are recognised globally as the ultimate hallmark of industry excellence and serve to acknowledge, reward and celebrate this across all sections of the global travel and tourism industries. Baros was chosen by voters consisting of industry professionals and travellers from all over the world.
