Bistrot Pierreofficially opened the doors to its new seafront restaurant
Bistrot Pierreofficially opened the doors to its new seafront restaurant, having completely redeveloped the iconic Wish Tower site on King Edward’s Parade.
The new restaurant has created 65 new jobs and will seat more than 150 diners in a relaxed bistrot and café bar area, as well as an outdoor terrace, boasting stunning panoramic views.
Co-founder, Rob Beacham said: “Our new restaurant’s seafront setting is absolutely stunning and the building itself is incredibly striking. We’re absolutely delighted to have opened in Eastbourne and wanted to reflect our beautiful new coastal location in our menus and interior design.
“For the first time, we’ve developed a tailor-made fish menu with a local fish supplier. This new menu features a local catch of the day alongside high-quality and sustainable fish, with seasonal dishes including: grilled king prawns, scallops, bouillabaisse maison and seafood risotto.
“In terms of the bistrot’s design, we’ve incorporated mirrored glass throughout, which complements our stunning seaside location perfectly. The restaurant’s bespoke copper pendants and bar lights also have a really rustic, coastal feel.”
The café bar area will serve a range of brunch dishes, open grilled sandwiches, baguettes, burgers and small plates. Local cake maker Lizzie’s has been baking homemade cakes for 30 years, and a daily selection of Lizzie’s freshly baked cakes will be on offer as part of the menu.
Rob added: “Our café bar menu will be available from 11.30am to 4pm, allowing customers to visit us throughout the day to enjoy a selection of light bites, coffee and cake. A ‘café bar’ is a new concept for us. Being by the coast lent itself perfectly to this offering, which enables walkers to pop in for some coffee and cake – and bring their dogs too.
“We’re now looking forward to a busy Christmas period – and welcoming new diners to our restaurant.”
Bistrot Pierre opened its first bistrot 25 years ago and is renowned in locations throughout the UK for its stylish and relaxed environment in which to enjoy a wide range of dishes freshly prepared by its chefs every day. The menus feature popular French bistrot dishes – such as its signature boeuf bourguinon – and modern French inspired dishes, as well as steaks, fish and a broad range of vegetarian options.
