Bournemouth Beach Lodges Back in Business

Bournemouth Beach Lodges Back in Business

After over four months of Lockdown the incredibly popular Bournemouth Beach Lodges will partially re-open on Monday 3 August, with around half of the 24 self-contained little houses by the sea welcoming guests at any one time. Every other Lodge will be occupied to ensure a safe, enjoyable and relaxing break on the east Dorset Coast.

The very high standard of service will of course be maintained, albeit with a number of changes to ensure guest safety at all times. The new procedures include contact free check-in and check-out, daily temperature checks for the staff and deep cleaning of each Lodge after use , followed by a 72 hour sterilisation period of that unit. Guests are asked to visit in family or group bubbles only. In addition there will of course be all the usual extra cleaning of touch points such as gate latches and bins and on – site reminders of regular use of hand sanitiser and the importance of social distancing. Despite these differences the guest experience will still be an amazing one. Boscombe beach is literally on the Lodges’ doorstep and is sandy, clean and perfect for play, sport and chilling, while never being too crowded. The nearby natural beauty spots of Hengistbury Head and Brownsea Island are stunning whatever the weather, while further afield The Purbecks to the west and the New Forest just across the Hampshire border are well worth a day trip. Guests can still bring their dogs and nearby bars, restaurants, surf shops and kiosks are also beginning to welcome back visitors and residents alike. Meanwhile, the town of Bournemouth and its neighbours, Poole and Christchurch , are gradually opening up , if not returning to the  pre-pandemic situation just yet.

Leader of BCP Council, Cllr Vikki Slade , says, “ I am delighted that the wonderful Bournemouth Beach Lodges are welcoming guests once more from next week.  The team have worked extraordinarily hard over the last few months to make sure the site is a safe but fun and relaxing base for a fantastic break in these testing times. This phased re-opening of the Lodges has already attracted a very high level of bookings and this is an early heartening sign that the Tourism industry is gradually recovering across the conurbation of Bournemouth , Christchurch and Poole.”

Launched in 2017, The Bournemouth Beach Lodges operate all year round, including Christmas and New Year and are perfect for a three or four night stay at any time . The design is cool and contemporary with a mezzanine level sleeping area, a bespoke central staircase  that doubles up as shelving,  modular furniture and clever simple and private wooden terrace.  Every Lodge has WiFi, heating, a shower room and toilet, a television and a well – equipped kitchen.

Demand for the Lodges is as high as ever and the team hope to be able to return to full capacity as soon as the global public health situation allows.
