A Brighton entrepreneur has been awarded for his innovation and creativity by winning Property Developer of the Year, in a national competition hosted by comedian and impressionist Jon Culshaw.

Stuart Scott of Brighton-based Co-Living Spacestook home the prestigious award at the National LIS Property Awards in London last month – trumping a number of larger development companies in a highly competitive category.

The ceremony at the Grosvenor Hotel in London brought together key players in the private rented sector and celebrated the success of landlords, developers and buy-to-let services.

“We were up against some tough competition so we’re absolutely thrilled to be recognised for breaking the mould in modern shared living – the like of which has never been seen before in our city,” said Stuart.

Co-Living Spaces rents out thoughtfully designed properties across Brighton and Hove – which combine cafe kitchens, inspired social spaces, cinema rooms, co-working, smart technology, private bathrooms and industrial urban styling.

“We are on a mission to disrupt the HMO [house of multiple occupancy] market and drive up standards by creating the next generation of shared living for young professionals,” says Stuart.

This is the third time Co-Living Spaces has been recognised by the industry, having previously won in two categories at the Property Investors Awards in 2018.
