Brighton Fringe 2022: Final Week
Prepare yourself for the final week of showstopping events at Brighton Fringe 2022, with a programme jam packed with #CuriouslyFringe experiences for you to enjoy over half term and the extended bank holiday weekend.
All the way from down under, Brighton Spiegeltent welcomes back the award-winning Head First Acrobats with their shows Railed and PreHysterical. Railed is a western-themed circus spectacular, combining their trademark physical talents, finely chiselled bodies and hilarious comic timing for an unforgettable show. PreHysterical is one for all the family to enjoy; a hilarious circus show for children and parents of all ages, following three foolish Neanderthals as they struggle to survive the harsh natural world.
It’s your final chance to catch Brighton Fringe bursary-winning shows like Lachland Werner: Voices of Evil and Sara Segovia: SUPERNUEVA at The Rotunda Theatre: Squeak. Reviews Hub Best of the Brighton Fringe 2021 award-winners, Siblings & Sami, tread the boards once more in the final week of Fringe with their hour long comedy of wickedly talented character comedy. Plus, don’t miss the chance for a drag-fabulous evening with Club Queer presented by Devine Tension at Club Revenge or with “the hostess with the ghostess”, Seayonce: Res-Erection, at Komedia Studio.
During the final week of Fringe, make the most of Globetrotters Crazy Golf who have taken over Jubilee Square with their latest crazy golf creation, the perfect family fun for running until 4 June. Jubilee Square will be transformed once again for the final day of Fringe with the Art Yard Sale on Sunday 5 June. From 11.00 you can meet and buy art directly from thirty-two leading contemporary artists. This market-style event is a great day out, bringing artists and art buyers together in one place.
The final week of Fringe means half term for the kids, Brighton Fringe has tonnes of events for children and families to enjoy. Why not check out Grimms Puppetails? Watch multi-puppeted versions of four classic stories by The Brothers Grimm at Sweet @ The Poets with six puppeteers performing with hand-made puppets. Alternatively, catch Brighton’s very own Sarah Davies with her new one-woman clown show: Bag Lady’s Fringe, an absurd wonder of laughter and togetherness at The Rotunda Theatre.
Brighton Fringe’s free outdoor event, Fringe City, will end the festival season with a bang during a special two day event to celebrate the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend from 13.00 on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 June. Catch a variety of acts from the Brighton Fringe 2022 programme, plus a very special evening programme from Fringe City stage sponsor Lakedown Brewing Co, Lakedown Sessions, which will be showcasing up-and-coming musicians.
On Saturday 4 June, there’s a #CuriouslyFringe experience for the little ones as Brighton Fringe and The Mayor’s Charities takeover the Royal Pavilion Gardens from 12.00 for the Jubilee Fringe Family Picnic. Gather the family together and join the fun with free children’s entertainment including Head First Acrobats, interactive accessible storytime from Living Paintings and musical entertainment from Ensonglopedia.
