BRIGHTON HOTELS JOIN FORCES FOR COMMUNITY BEACH CLEAN

Hotels across Brighton and Hove partnered up this week (8 November) to take part in a community beach clean-up between Brighton Palace Pier and Brighton West Pier.

Staff and managers from local hotels joined forces, braving wet and windy conditions to clear litter from the beach.

Brighton and Hove Hoteliers Association (BHHA) organised the two-hour beach clean as part of a community project to look after the city.

Kelly Louw, Chair of Brighton and Hove Hoteliers Association, said: “After such a difficult couple of years for the hospitality industry, I am delighted that we have been able to bring the Association back together again.

“Not only does it enable us with opportunities to work together in the future, but we can also give something back to the city that we are so proud to run our businesses in.

“The beach clean was a brilliant initiative allowing us to play our part in keeping Brighton tidy and clean whilst also socialising with individuals within our sector. It was a great morning and I’m proud of what we achieved.”

Andrew Mosley, Managing Director of The Grand Brighton and Vice Chair of the BHHA, added: “We’re proud to be part of the BHHA and we’re looking forward to similar events like the beach clean-up. Sustainability is high on our agenda so the more we can do to help make Brighton greener, the better.”
