CRISIS-Support Charity

Brighton charity fundraiser partners with Absolute Magazine

A local Educational professional has teamed up with Absolute Magazine to organise a Gala evening in Hove to help raise funds for the homelessness charity Crisis. Rebecca-Marie Smart, cordially invites both local businesses and members of the public to the Crisis Gala Evening on 25th November 2015 at the Freemasons in Hove.

The Gala Evening has been created entirely through charitable support from local and national businesses and includes an all star donation from the England Rugby Team for what is set to be a fantastic auction!

As well as the auction the evening will be a mix of entertainment provided from local artists, shopping via the retail village, fashion advice courtesy of local designers, networking opportunities, a high value raffle and much, much more, 100% of money raised will go directly to www.crisis.org.uk.

Rebecca-Marie Smart said: “I’ve always been shocked that, even in this day and age, people are forced to endure homelessness. But when I saw that rough sleeping is on the rise in the UK, I decided I had to help. Having personally volunteered and donated every year to the Crisis Christmas appeal I decided that this year I would up the ante. As well as making a real difference for homeless people, our gala evening incudes entertainment from local talent with a star turn from Ladymarmaduke and guests, fashion advice from local fashionista and designer ‘Natalie Courtois’, chances to purchase new and vintage treats from unique and quirky local businesses – not to mention the incredible prizes on offer from our raffle bonanza! Prizes range from beauty boxes to hair vouchers to kitesurfing lessons to gym memberships and PT! I am delighted to have the support of Absolute Magazine who were so happy to help publish the event and promote awareness for the charity. Absolute magazine in a bid to encourage local business participation have also donated advertising space as part of the raffle, I can’t wait to welcome the team to the event and also look forward to seeing the photos in the Absolute MagazineWinter publication. Please come along and join us in helping to end homelessness once and for all”

Ed Tait, Director of Fundraising for Crisis, said: “Homelessness is a devastating and isolating experience. The average age of death for a homeless person is just 47. No one should face these dangers. But thanks to the dedication of our fundraisers, each year Crisis can help thousands of people to rebuild their lives. I want to say a huge thank you to Rebecca and her team for helping end homelessness for good.”

Members of the public are asked to donate just £3 entry to the Crisis Gala Evening, local businesses can also participate through the hire of tabletops to sell their goods and/or through donating items to the raffle or auction. Anyone can sign up by simply emailing bexmsmart@gmail.com or by calling 07814 013211. The event takes place from 7pm on Wednesday the 25th November 2015 at the Freemasons, 38-39 Western Road, Hove, East Sussex, BN3 1AF.
