After three successful years, Brighton’s Next Hot Model UK competition is still one of the UK’s most sought after modelling competitions, prizes include an all-expenses paid long haul trip, freebies and of course, the grand finale, a 2 year modelling contract with First Models Management.
Hopefuls from all over south east England spend their in-between time prepping for this, dedicated to every part of it all to impress some very finicky judges, the competition is fierce, but the contestants are fiercer!
Last year on the 4th September, after 8 rounds of competing, 30 contestants took to the stage in the iconic Grand Hotel, Brighton, all in the hopes of being crowned the Next Hot model UK.
It was a star studded event that took place, performances with singer Larissa Edie and opera star Kayla White where creatively timed with various fashion shows.
It was a tough competition by anyone’s judgement, but all that mattered was what the judges thought, and it certainly isn’t easy to impress someone with a background in fashion, music and media!
After what felt like an eternity, and probably even longer to the contestants, Will Glover and Layla Harris were both crowned Brighton’s Next Hot Model.
It wasn’t long before the modelling due were whisked off to their dream destination of the Seychelles. Not a bad ending at all ..
Preview into the life of a model
Before there was even time to recover from a 14 hour journey, Will and Layla were put to good use immediately, their first shoot included clothes from an array of designers including Café Blue Clothing and RTH London, a real look into the life of an international model.
After 7 days of shooting, I’m sure the two were looking forward to nothing but soaking up the sun, and i imagine the rest of the Next Hot model UK team didn’t disagree either. There was 4 hotels arranged to the group to stay in, eating local cuisine, sun bathing and enjoying the scenery right on their door step.
During their ten-day trip, Layla, Will and the BNHM UK team stayed at the Indian Ocean Lodge, The Carana Hill Top Villa, Bird Island Seychelles and The Hilton Seychelles Labriz. Details of each resort can be found on the Seychelles travel report.
