British Airways i360 celebrates English Tourism Week 2017 with.
A new exhibition: ‘British Airways i360: How it was Built’ A Food and Ale Pairing Evening with Harvey’s Brewery, Fly on British Airways i360 and children eat free in the Belle Vue restaurant, An exhibition of photography and film charting the construction of British Airways i360, the world’s tallest moving observation tower, will open on Wednesday 29 March, during English Tourism Week.
Images by British Airways i360 official photographers Kevin Meredith and Gary Eastwood, who documented the whole build process, will be displayed alongside additional shots by Paul Raftery and a short film by Latest TV.
The exhibition, called ‘British Airways i360: How it was Built’ takes up a permanent home in the Austen room in the British Airways i360 beach building and will be free for members of the public to enjoy during spring, summer and autumn months*.
During winter months or inclement weather, when pod flights board from inside the beach building, access to the exhibition will be for British Airways i360 customers only. British Airways i360 chairman David Marks of Marks Barfield Architects, which conceived and designed the attraction, said: “British Airways i360 is an engineering tour de force and a wonderful symbol of British design innovation. ‘How it was Built’ will provide visitors with an insight into one of the aspects that makes this landmark project a world first.
“I would like to pay tribute to all the architects, engineers, designers and contractors who made it a reality as well as to the photographers and filmmakers who recorded the whole process from beginning to end.”
West Pier Trust chairman Glynn Jones said: “The West Pier Trust is truly delighted to have been closely associated with Marks Barfield in the planning and construction of British Airways i360.
“This iconic structure enhances the site of the former Grade I listed West Pier and restates the importance of first class design and its ability to lift the spirits.”

Food and Ale Pairing Evening in the Belle Vue restaurant with Harvey’s Brewery: Thursday 30 March, 7pm.
The Belle Vue restaurant at British Airways i360 is proud to partner with Harvey’s, a Sussex brewer which has been producing traditional ales among the cobbled streets of Lewes, Sussex, for more than 200 years.
During a special Food and Ale Pairing Evening on Thursday 30 March, guests can enjoy a three-course menu created using Sussex produce, including delicious locally cured meats, lamb cooked in Harvey’s Porter, and cheeses from the High Weald Dairy. Each course will be served with a different hand-crafted Harvey’s ale, and a representative from the brewery will be on hand to give tasting notes.
Three-course meal with three Harvey’s ales, £40 per person. Price does not include a flight on British Airways i360.

Fly on British Airways i360 and Children Eat Free in the Belle Vue restaurant: Monday 27 March to Sunday April 2.
Take to the skies on British Airways i360 and see Brighton and the south coast as you have never seen them before. Afterwards enjoy a meal in the beachside restaurant, the Belle Vue, where dishes are inspired by the seasons and prepared using locally sourced ingredients.
To celebrate English Tourism Week, between Monday 27 March and Sunday 2 April, families taking a flight on British Airways i360 will receive a ‘Kids Eat Free’ voucher for children aged 12 years and under.
Kids’ Menu dishes include South Coast cod goujons, grilled chicken bites, pesto pasta or a cheeseburger; and for dessert they can build their own Brightonbockerglory!
