Children’s Summer Festival at Proud Country House

July 1st – September 17th 2017

This summer, Proud Country House has the children’s summer holidays sorted! The jam-packed schedule of events guarantees to entertain, but also build confidence and help children flourish in the great outdoors.

The Big Tree Climbing Company will be offering climbing lessons with fully qualified staff in our grandest trees, challenging kids and adults alike to reach for the sky. Nature Tots, run by the Sussex Wildlife Trust, is a wonderful opportunity for 3-5 year olds to engage with bugs, get their hands dirty and try out woodland crafts. Circus Allstars will be hosting workshops, teaching circus skills, with games, contests and the chance to try out real circus equipment.

Elsewhere, Black Cat curate exciting, interactive treasure hunts, where you will need to find hidden answers by using clues around you, providing the perfect opportunity to explore the gorgeous grounds of Stanmer House. Crafty kids will have the opportunity to learn the beautiful craft of mosaic with celebrated local artist, Gillian Steer. Every child will leave with their own mosaic masterpiece.

For a more peaceful moment Proud Country House offer Story Hollow, a gorgeous fairy-themed garden under the canopy of our beautiful trees with mushroom-shaped stools, picnic blankets, and esteemed storytellers, Bluebell Adventures, bringing magical tales to life. Plumpton Forest School will be on site helping children understand their connection with the natural world with activities including fire lighting, tool use, shelter building, nature games and woodland art.

Proud Country House is also delighted to be the new home of family favourites, Big Fish Little Fish, who have just won 4 awards at the 2017 Get Creative National Family Arts Festival Awards for their fun family raves.

As if all this wasn’t enough, our marquee will play host to a varied programme of rainy-day activities from our expert team, including hip hop dance classes, kids yoga, pottery and puppetry.

The Proud Country House playground will take pride of place on the front lawns, fully equipped with play house, story-telling area and climbing frame. kids can explore and burn off some of their unwavering energy while parents watch from the safety of the terrace.

Delicious and healthy meals and snacks, suitable for both parents and children will be available from our restaurant. And of course, it wouldn’t be summer without a refreshing ice-cream treat.

Proud Country House’s Children’s Summer Festival is an opportunity for everyone from children to parents, to grandparents, aunts and uncles to spend quality family together. Situated just 15 minutes from Brighton town centre, this not-so-faraway land is the perfect destination for an afternoon of creativity away from the bustle of everyday life.
