Comedy superstar Russell Howard joins the opening night of Brighton Comedy Garden

Comedy superstar Russell Howard joins the opening night at this month’s Brighton Comedy Garden (14-18th July) guaranteeing an outrageously good first show and kicking off the five-night comedy extravaganza in style.

Russell’s signature high-energy performances have delighted his legion of fans across the UK as well as the globe. He makes the stage his personal playground, weaving a never-ending series of unstoppably comical journeys, and effortlessly reflecting on modern day issues using his own unique style of laid-back comedic charm.

He joins an already blistering line up featuring lo-fi genius David O’Doherty, Live At The Apollo’s Ivo Graham and Brighton’s very own Mock The Week-er Angela Barnes.

With just a handful of tickets remaining, comedy lovers across Brighton and beyond are urged to snap up the last few seats to this astounding opening night show.

Landing on the leafy lawns of Preston Park from 14th to 18th July this year’s Comedy Garden recently switched to a socially-distanced event following the Government’s deviation from the Roadmap.

Organisers Cass Randolph and Will Briggs, the sibling team behind 57 Festivals, are ecstatic about the latest addition and are looking forward to the upcoming festival. “Russell is one of the biggest, most mesmerizing and hilarious comedians out there so we’re thrilled he’s coming to join us in Brighton” says Will. “We’ve been busy switching the event to socially-distanced and to now be announcing Russell is great, and back to what we love best which is bringing amazing comedians to the beautiful Preston Park”

This month’s series of socially-distanced shows was already going to look a bit different from the inaugural event held back in July 2019. The shows, traditionally held in a Big Top tent, were set to take place on an outdoor stage with audiences in a seated open-air theatre. Now, with the continued restrictions, the event has been adapted in a few key ways such as socially-distanced seating plots and one-way systems.

Tickets to this year’s event have sold at record speeds, evidently the desire for live entertainment is strong for the people of Brighton and beyond. So snap up the last few tickets now for the ultimate remedy and be part of this year’s magnificent Brighton Comedy Garden!
