TV star and three-time champion of ‘Dancing On Ice,’ Dan Whiston will be headlining the brand new, multi-million pound extravaganza that is ‘Cinderella On Ice’, the largest UK touring ice show in 2021. Having won Dancing On Ice a sensational three times with partners Gaynor Faye (Coronation St), Hayley Tamaddon (Coronation St) and Beth Tweddle (Olympic Bronze Medalist) before becoming its Associate Creative Director, Dan now joins the hugely-talented cast of Cinderella On Ice to enchant audiences across the UK with this breath-taking new ice spectacular.

THE FAIRYTALE
We are all familiar with the timeless fairytale of Cinderella where, in a faraway land a long, long time ago, our heroine lived with her Father and her cruel Step Mother and Step Sisters. Meanwhile, in the castle, the King was looking for a suitable bride for his son, the Prince, and so invited every eligible maiden in the kingdom to a fancy dress ball, where his son would be able to eventually choose a bride. Cinderella didn’t have a suitable party dress for the grand ball, but her friends the mice and the birds all helped to make her one before the evil Step Sisters cruelly ripped it apart on the very evening of the ball. However, all was not lost as a wonderful Fairy Godmother, a pumpkin carriage, the royal ball, the stroke of midnight and the famous glass slipper all conspired to turn Cinderella’s fortunes around and bring her the happiest of endings.

The producers ‘Fairytale On Ice’ have, over the course of the past 27 years, earned a reputation for being the world’s leading ice show producers, entertaining millions of fans, including royalty, presidents and countless families in more than 30 countries, over 6 continents and as far afield as Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Hawaii, Indonesia and Brazil. Highlights include featuring in the opening ceremony of a $135m Ice Stadium for the President of Turkmenistan; a special performance for several members of the Jordanian Royal Family, including several real-life Princesses!, followed by a spectacular performance of Peter Pan On Ice for the late Prince Rainier of Monaco at the home of Circus, Le Chapiteau. The company is also well known for its innovative and exciting style of large arena shows such as at the Blaisdell Arena, Honolulu and a sell-out run of six shows at Paris’ world famous 20,000 seat Bercy Arena. Not discouraged by the ravages of the COVID-19 pandemic, they safely and successfully staged a run of performances at the prestigious Dubai Opera in December 2020, cementing their position on a truly global stage as trailblazers of innovative solutions for presenting world-class entertainment in a safe environment.
THE CONCEPT
The concept of true “Theatre On Ice” which are full-length productions specifically designed to fit theatre stages, was born in 1993 when Vee Deplidge created a company that toured the U.K. to considerable acclaim with a unique production of The Sleeping Beauty On Ice. This production cast professional Russian ice skaters of incredibly high standard, including many former competitors at National, European, World and Olympic level, combined with world famous coaches and choreographers such as Tatiana Tarasova, Igor Moskvin and Cav Giuseppe Arena, in a troupe collectively known as The Russian Ice Stars.
