Previously known as LIFE club, Brighton siblings Becky and Matt Andrews reopened the place as The Tempest Inn in March and this bustling Shakespeare-inspired bar and live music venue is definitely worth a visit.
Located at the arches right on the seafront, the warren of downstairs caves and shipwrecked inspired interior offers the perfect place to snuggle down for a few beverages (cocktails, craft beers and a huge selection of my favourite tipple – Gin is on offer here) and some fresh, locally produced food.
On May 14th chef Edward H will be heading a pop up ‘Fish Supper’ night with six courses of seafood and on May 28th the ‘Spice Route Supper Club’ will be held, with five courses of Vegan food including the intense flavours and traditions of chef Parusha’s South African and Indian family.
If a sea view is your thing, seat yourself upstairs at the Ariel Bar and take in stormy weather through huge arched windows or take a pew at the front patio on sunnier days and if you find a cave you are particularly keen on you can go ahead and book the same one for your future visit on their website.
