Eurotunnel Le Shuttle ready to welcome passengers as European travel gets the green light

The service is operating a regular service, as travel to France opens for English visitors

With last week’s announcement that UK travellers can visit France and a number of European countries without a 14-day quarantine upon return, Eurotunnel Le Shuttle offers passengers the ideal mode of ‘socially distanced’ travel as a contactless service from door-to-door.

Last week Eurotunnel Le Shuttle opened the doors of its terminal building for the first time since March, offering new initiatives such as a ‘click and go’ service delivering food and drinks direct to passengers cars, as well as an optional temperature testing booth for those looking for extra peace of mind ahead of their trip.

In addition to these benefits, Eurotunnel Le Shuttle also has an exclusive partnership with Emovis Tag, the French motorway operator, allowing passengers a fee-free application for a toll tag so they can enjoy driving through France hassle-free, avoiding queues.

The service has also launched a new web page offering a range of ideas for ‘socially distanced’ holidays for those conscious to stay within their bubble whilst travelling abroad. From hiking in the Gorges du Verdon, cycling in the Loire Valley, to camping in Brittany, there are a range of trips and itineraries to suit every traveller.

Eurotunnel Le Shuttle offers the perfect ‘socially distanced’ travel option for groups, families and friends, and also to pet owners looking to take their four-legged friends on holiday. Passengers bringing pets on their trip can utilise the pet reception area in Calais before returning to the UK, which includes an exercise area for animals, as well as the drive through pet check-in service where travellers can stay in the comfort of their car should they wish. This is the only mode of travel to Europe where pet owners can travel with their animal without leaving their vehicle.

Eurotunnel Le Shuttle is currently operating up to four services an hour from Folkestone to Calais. Passengers drive onto the train at Folkestone and disembark in Calais just 35 minutes later. With contactless check in available and the “in car” delivery services at the terminal, passengers can travel from home to holiday without leaving the car.

Prices start at just £72 per car for up to nine passengers; for more information and social distancing holiday ideas, visit www.eurotunnel.com
