MORE SPRINGTIME FUN @ FIELD2FORK, SATURDAY 6 MAY 11am-4pm
This Saturday, FIELD at Preston Barracks is hosting another free community and family-friendly event to coincide with the start of Brighton Artists Open Houses. FIELD is hosting 8 artists this month and is one of the few venues to be open for weekday viewing. When the doors open on Saturday, resident business, edible plant specialists Old Tree, will be providing a day of workshops with a chance to explore the FIELD landscape to see edible plants, fermentation, soil and science, plus a Botanical Treasure Hunt with fun and prizes for all ages.
Tom from Old Tree said,
“We are delighted to be showcasing the skills and activity happening at FIELD, and sharing it with the community.
“We plan to celebrate the month of May by proving that everybody can grow something. All our events are centred on seasonal fun for all the family and hope to give local people the new skills and encouragement to try something new.”
For the not so green-fingered, Brighton Bike Hub is running Dr Bike sessions, cycle training and a kids’ cycle obstacle course.
The Wood Store be running a box making workshop, hosting quiztime, badge making and providing live music and entertainment.
FIELD at Preston Barracks was established by U+I to inform a clear vision of what Brighton & Hove’s diverse entrepreneurial community needs from a potential permanent facility, which is part of the proposed redevelopment of Preston Barracks.
