Forget-me-not: Waitrose and Deliveroo Offer Fresh Flower Deliveries in as little as 30 Minutes This Mother’s Day

As the nationwide lockdown continues, Deliveroo and Waitrose have teamed up to offer fresh flower deliveries available to order straight to customers’ doors, meaning people can treat their loved ones to spring blooms this Mother’s Day. All affordably priced, great quality and delivered in as little as 30 minutes, customers can choose from a wide selection of flowers, including:

Daffodils, £1
Waitrose British Tulips Bunch, £3
Freesia, £4
Chrysanthemum Bouquet, £5
Long Stem Roses, £6
Sorbet Tulip Bouquet, £8

More people than ever are expected to turn to on-demand delivery to ensure gifts arrive in time, as research conducted by Deliveroo found that 47% of the UK won’t get to see their loved ones due to lockdown restrictions. For the 1 in 3 people who leave buying their Mother’s Day a present to the last minute, they’ll also find a great option in ordering fresh flowers at the tap of a button.

Flowers still remain the UK’s number one way to brighten mum’s day, as the Deliveroo research revealed that nearly half of people typically give their mum flowers every year on Mother’s Day.  Mother’s Day is the biggest day for Waitrose flower sales in the year, with tulips topping the list of favourite flowers closely followed by roses and lilies.

Ajay Lakhwani, VP Grocery & Commercial Partnerships said: “We know that most of us won’t be able to see our loved ones in person this Mother’s Day, but with a range of food bundles, chocolates and fresh flowers to choose from, customers can have confidence knowing that in partnership with Waitrose we’re providing more convenient and affordable ways to get a gift to mum’s door in as little as 30 minutes.”

A Waitrose spokesperson, said: “Flowers are for everyone to enjoy – so add some beautiful bright spring flowers to your basket to share with someone special this Mother’s Day.  Flowers don’t need to cost a lot to brighten someone’s day – our British tulips and Cornish daffodils are great value and super quality and can be at their door within minutes, to show you are thinking of them.  And if you just fancy treating yourself, our seasonal range of flowers will be available on Deliveroo all year round!”

For those wanting to go one step further to impress, they can order a delicious feast with Waitrose food bundles available to order through Deliveroo. From a Mother’s Day luxury Traditional or Continental Breakfast, to a luxury Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea bundle*, there are multiple ways to celebrate this year.

Deliveroo first announced their partnership with Waitrose in September last year. The contact-free service is now available from 40 Waitrose stores across the UK (subject to availability).
