‘Form in Nature’ Unique Sculpture Exhibition at Borde Hill this Summer
See the beautiful Sussex garden at Borde Hill transformed into a stunning outdoor gallery, with a carefully curated exhibition of sculpture, kindly sponsored by 1st Central.
Titled ‘Form in Nature’, the sculptures will be placed throughout the 17-acre formal Garden, working in harmony with the renowned horticultural collection that has put Borde Hill on the map as a garden of national importance. Including over 80 pieces, the diverse display of abstract and figurative works will highlight fresh new talent, with some familiar names returning to be part of this celebration of art. Andrewjohn Stephenson Clarke, family owner of Borde Hill, says ‘This is the 22nd anniversary of our sculpture exhibition, and we’re delighted to support the wonderful artists and their impressive works, which celebrate local creativity at a time when we all need a touch of magic.”
Will Carr’s kinetic wind sculpture ‘Fluidity’ will captivate visitors as it twists and turns in the breeze, against the backdrop of the Elizabethan Mansion House. Wandering further into the garden ‘rooms’, guests will encounter ‘Greer, Guardian Angel’ by Ed Elliott, a striking figure by artist sculptor Ed Elliott, a work which was awarded ‘Sculpture of the Year 2020’ at the Cotswold Sculpture Park.
Exploring the Garden’s hidden spaces, visitors will stumble across exquisite stone carvings, alongside works in resin, metal and glass. Many pieces draw inspiration from the natural world, including ‘Sycamore Spin’ by Zoe Singleton, ‘Ammonite’ by Nicola Axe and ‘Falling Water’ by Richard Cresswell.
Smaller pieces will be exhibited inside the Glasshouse and Green Tree Gallery, encouraging visitors to explore every nook and cranny of the historic garden and grounds. All works will be on sale, with something to suit every taste and pocket.
The exhibition will run daily from 7th May – 30th September 2021 with admission included in the standard entry price. Booking is essential via the website: www.bordehill.co.uk.
