FOUR WEEKS TO GO! Brighton & Hove Pride

5th & 6th August 2023

Brash, beautiful and brilliant, Brighton & Hove Pride returns for another year and we are so excited to announce that we are just four weeks away from the first day of celebrations. Our main events are back and better than ever for 2023 including FABULOSO In The Park, our 2-day official fundraiser event for the Brighton Rainbow Fund at Brighton’s Preston Park on 5th and 6th August featuring Black Eyed Peas, STEPS, Zara Larsson, Mae Muller, Melanie C, Louise and more.

Our FABULOSO In The Park event is our most inclusive and diverse yet, including over 150 LGBTQ+ artists as well as our essential LGBTQ+ allies performing across 12 different stages and areas of entertainment. All our performers are members of or allies of our glorious rainbow family.

Firmly established as the UK’s biggest Pride celebration; Brighton & Hove Pride is as famous, vibrant, popular and unique as the city itself. Brighton and Hove Pride’s sole ethos is to promote diversity, inclusion and education within our communities. Putting the beautiful diversity of our community at the heart of this year’s event, our Pride celebration theme is Dare To Be Different.

Back for 2023 is also the return of the Pride LGBTQ+ Community Parade, the 2-day Pride Village Party and the Pride Community Day & Dog Show!

Pride LGBTQ+ Community Parade – ‘Dare To Be Different’  – 5th August 2023

The Pride LGBTQ+ Community Parade is one of the undisputed highlights of the Brighton & Hove Pride weekend and is a glorious showcase of the city’s charities, community groups and small businesses as well as our invaluable emergency services, the NHS and statutory partners.

It is one of the biggest and brightest events in Brighton & Hove’s calendar, with over 300,000 people thronging the city’s streets to participate in and watch the parade of community and campaign groups, and the all-singing, all-dancing carnival of colour as it winds its way from Hove Lawns to Preston Park for FABULOSO In The Park, the official Brighton & Hove Pride charity fundraiser.

50 years on from the first Pride march in Brighton, we celebrate to 1973 Sussex Gay Liberation Front, as they are the reason we are here, half a century on. Continuing our ‘Love Protest Unity’ theme, this year we challenge you to ‘Dare To Be Different’, as we come together to remember, celebrate and most importantly, to campaign.

Pride Village Party – 5th & 6th August 2023

The Pride Village Party in Brighton’s famous Kemptown sees businesses across St James’ Street and Marine Parade come together to celebrate Pride and raise extra funds for the Brighton Rainbow Fund and Pride Social Impact Fund. With DJs and performers across the area on closed streets, the heart of the village comes alive for 2 days of fun with a fundraising purpose.

Pride Community Day & Dog Show — 27th August 2023

The annual canine highlight of fun and barking frolics where we pamper those pooches and paw our way to one of Brighton Pride’s most wonderfully accessible events. Join us as we celebrate our four-legged best friends, as dogs and dog lovers come together and shine with Pride.

Judged novelty classes include categories such as Cutest Puppy, Golden Oldie, Best Rescue and the Pride Special: Best Drag Dog (Queen/King) – an unmissable show of paw-fect pooches and waggy tails. Industry professionals oversee all entries and judge each category, ensuring every star pooch gets the recognition their proud paws deserve.

In addition to the dog show, a whole host of community and family-friendly activities will be available including food provided by Lunch Positive, community stalls, a fully licensed bar and an unmissable (free) doggy photo booth, run by award-winning local photographer, Chris Jepson.
