Giggling Squid Teams Up With Lost Pier Brewing
Giggling Squid, the fun and innovative family of Thai restaurants are dipping their tentacles into craft beer as they partner with Lost Pier, the Brighton-based craft ale brewery, to launch an exclusive Giggling Squid branded guest beer: APA Actually.
Available in both the Brighton and Hove restaurants from Tuesday 26th September until stocks last, APA Actually (£5 per can) is a 5% classic American Pale Ale packing nuttiness and a dry, grainy finish to its rye malt. Brewer, Dan Gale adds, ‘El Dorado, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops provide the huge flavour hit we want from our APA…Actually, which incidentally work really well with Thai food so we think this is going to fly out!’
Lost Pier was introduced to Giggling Squid by friend Toby Peirce, of Quaff Wines in Hove. Many years ago he helped husband and wife owners, Pranee and Andy Laurillard, curate their own Giggling Squid wine list and has kept them topped up with wine ever since and they’re now setting their sights on craft beer! Alongside budding brewer Dan Gale, the eye-catching artwork is created by Mister Phil, a well-known local artist, who has managed to capture the West Pier and the seafront in his own unique, fun way.
Pranee said, ‘We’re very proud to support local brewer, Lost Pier; our own journey started out in a small fisherman’s cottage in this very town and we are firm believers of starting small and dreaming big’.
The team are already concocting a bespoke “Giggling blend”, which will launch in 2018 if this venture shows that the demand is there – we’ll drink to that!
