Returning to Sussex with a brand-new show for 2017 and a canon stuffed with seminal DJs and special guests – FAC 51 The Hacienda and northern experimental orchestra: Manchester Camerata, bring their acclaimed HACIENDA CLASSICAL to Brighton Racecourse this Summer.
The Hacienda (FAC 51), the infamous Mancunian club once powered by legendary label Factory Records (New Order, Happy Mondays) will team up once again with Manchester’s finest contemporary orchestra to breath new life into the classic dance anthems that once shook its iconic black-and-yellow striped beams.
As-seen in the Channel4 documentary “Hacienda House Orchestra”, this incredible show sees the DJ’s who shaped The Haçienda’s sound – Mike Pickering and Graeme Park – collaborate with the Camerata and an array of Special Guests (to be revealed) for a night of classic dance music, innovatively adapted and meticulously arranged.
Following the widespread critical acclaim and phenomenal demand that surrounded sold-out performances at some of the country’s biggest spaces last year, including London’s Royal Albert Hall, Glasgow’s SEE Hydro Arena, and Manchester’s Castlefield Arena, not to mention their lightning-quick selling show at The Dome as part of the Brighton Festival 2016; the ensemble make tracks back to the south coast will an all new spectacle to behold this August.
Now in its second year, the project returns for a run of shows across the country as they recreate the seminal tracks that defined a generation at the Hacienda club and promise an all-new setlist primed to make for an inspirational night.
In commemoration of the live shows so far, the collective have also recently released “Hacienda Classical” the album. Featuring the full live set of the former show, the Acid-soaked collection of classicised club anthems features versions of “Someday”, “You Don’t Know Me”, “Strings Of Live”/ “Good Life” as well as Rowetta’s stunning encore of “You Got The Love”.
