INDIE BIZ OWNERS GIVEN CHANCE TO TRADE ON THE ICONIC LANES IN BRIGHTON
The Pop-Up Club is offering artists, creatives, designers and makers from Brighton and the surrounding areas the chance to showcase their work in a coveted retail space in The Lanes throughout Christmas shopping season.
Founder Tillie Peel, 27, was inspired to bring this concept to Brighton following the success of The Chelmsford Pop-Up Club, a retail space that she and her team transformed into an affordable, low risk place to help artists, makers and emerging brands nurture and grow their businesses.
Tillie believed so strongly in the power of indie businesses changing the high street landscape that she listed her bedroom on Airbnb, slept on her sofa and worked multiple jobs to support her passion project in the early days.
A couple of years later, with the model proven and shoppers displaying an appetite for all things handmade, independent and unique, Tillie is on a mission to support and promote makers and creators in Brighton and the surrounding areas.
Tillie says: “As a city absolutely bursting with creativity, Brighton is a natural home for our next concept store so we are thrilled to be creating The Brighton Pop-Up Club on the iconic Duke Lane in The Lanes.
It’s so exciting to offer indie businesses the chance to trade in such an iconic place as The Lanes in Brighton, especially during such a high footfall time as Christmas shopping season.
It’s an unprecedented chance for makers and creators to grow their business in what has been such a tough year for small business owners, financially and emotionally. As a business owner myself I totally understand the level of pressure that they have been under, so my passion for supporting my peers has never been stronger.
Our dedication to the brands we showcase and the shopper’s experience means the retail space will be beautiful aesthetically and everything we do will reflect our commitment to sustainability, diversity and affordability, values we know are championed by Brighton locals and visitors alike.”
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
In order to support the local creative community while also giving shoppers an alternative, awesome, high street experience, Tillie is calling on local artists, creatives and makers to apply to be part of The Brighton Pop-Up Club now so her team can work with them to showcase their work when it opens in November.
