Lewes Joy Festival 25th-26th June

JOY IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER FOR BRIGHTON FOOD LOVERS
It is only weeks until festival goers experience JOY – a boutique Summer Festival of Food, Music, Lifestyle and Fun in the centre of picturesque Lewes on 25th and 26th June 2016.

JOY is summer celebration with an amazing collection of attractions rarely found together in Sussex, many of whom are from Brighton, including: The Mountain Firework Company; jazz band, Harrys Tricks;
Brighton based community Samba dancers, Beleza; Lost Bohemia Catwalk; Snoopers Attic – North Laine; 1 Brighton FM DJ sets; and lots of amazing artisan produce and street food from around the city.

The festival will showcase a mix of artisan food and drink stalls, street food and pop up bars alongside amazing outdoors, homewares and country lifestyle stands, creating the perfect setting for a weekend of top quality products and innovative design in a great atmosphere.


A teepee village and boutique living area will include outdoor and country living stands, garden design and architectural salvage, home-wares and kitchenalia, as well as sensational street food and pop up bars from local breweries and vineyards. Harvey’s real ale bar will be there, bringing along their shire horses and dray and vintage truck.

An artisan food and drink market, with over 50 wonderful artisan food stalls offering a range from the traditional to the unusual and on-trend, will include fermented pickles, wild and foraged foods, seaweed, goat meat, reishi herb coffee, cob nuts, Isle of Wight garlic, English charcuterie, gluten free bakery, wild mushrooms and much more.

The children’s zone will host street entertainers, food and craft workshops and authentic vintage rides & amusements from Horton’s Steam Fair.  There will be lots of fun things to watch and do, including wild flower wreath making workshops, foraged food, wild cocktail and chocolate making workshops, artisan and master craftsmen, fabrics and French haberdashery, Candy Queen’s Beauty Boutique & Glitter Beards and a fairy trail with willow wands and painted fairy doors.

Organised by established Sussex food event company Food Rocks in partnership with Firle & Country Events, this exciting new event promises to be one of the top things to do in Sussex this summer.
The festival is conveniently situated near Lewes Railway Station, easily accessed from the A26 and A27 and there is plenty of parking in Lewes, which is free on Sundays.
