March 2019…//JW Marriott is delighted to announce that JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa will be opening on the island of Vagaru, Shaviyani Atoll, Maldives in July 2019. The impressive 61-villa property is headed-up by General Manager Marc Gussing, and will bring fierce competition to the Maldives with highlights including: a JW branded Spa and Kids Club, one of the best culinary offerings in the Maldives with five restaurants, three bars and a wine room, private pools with every villa, an adults-only pool and club, on-site marine biologist, an over-water gym, and an open-air yoga pavilion with multiple wellness spaces.
The 61 villas at JW Marriot Maldives will all come with private pools and spacious wooden decks. Guests will have a choice between five villa categories: two-bedroom Duplex Beach Pool Villas with an upstairs lounge and direct beach access; one-bedroom Duplex Overwater Villas with upstairs lounge; one-bedroom Beach Pool Villas with direct beach access; one-bedroom Overwater Pool Villas with choice of sunset or sunrise view; Royal Villa, more details coming soon.
With five stand-alone restaurants, three fully-serviced bars, an expansive wine cellar and chef’s garden, to only 61 villas, the resort is going to have one of the most exceptional dining offerings in the Maldives.

An iconic JW Kid’s Club with indoor and outdoor spaces, including a pirate’s ship, kid’s sleeping areas, a servery, games, and educational animated activities overseen by the resorts’ kids keepers, speaking multiple languages.
A water sports and dive centre with an on-site marine biologist will offer guests opportunities to explore the calm, crystal clear waters and house reef teeming with sea life that surround the property.
Pool 18, an adults-only infinity swimming pool on the tip of the island, and Lounge 18, a club house comprising of a cigar room, shisha room, karaoke room, a billiards table, digital animation, and a selection of board games, will be available to guests over the age of 18.
