Kinsbrook Vineyard opens for coffee, cake and vineyard tours

Kinsbrook Vineyard, just outside West Chiltington, Sussex has opened the doors of its converted horsebox. The horsebox has allowed Sussex’s newest vineyard to offer freshly-ground barista coffee and home-made cakes, together with vineyard tours. When the debut wines are launched next month, wine tastings will also be available together with bar snacks and themed street food evenings.

The vintage horsebox, which was lovingly converted by the Kinsbrook team, is made almost entirely from locally-sourced products including oak from a local timber merchant, discarded scaffolding poles and recycled coffee bean sacks. It was a real labour of love for vineyard owner Joe Beckett and the Kinsbrook team.

“The Kinsbrook ethos is all about building things ‘from the ground up’, so it was a real journey converting the horsebox ourselves. From cutting and sanding down the oak to make the counter tops to designing the scaffolding poles to support the bar, we all developed new skills” said Joe, who is the youngest vineyard owner in the country. “We’re delighted to be opening our doors to everyone near and far.” For now, people can enjoy coffee and cake – and next month wine tasting, craft beers, snacks, tours and more.

About Kinsbrook Vineyard

Kinsbrook Vineyard is a family-owned and run vineyard founded in 2014. Led by 27-year-old Joe Beckett, the youngest vineyard owner in the country, Kinsbrook Vineyard is creating a spectacular range of hand-crafted wines from grapes grown on its third generation farm. Its inaugural sparkling and still wines – a 2014 Vintage Cuvée, a Bacchus and a Pinot Gris –  debut this July. Kinsbrook Vineyard is also experimenting with the ‘forgotten’ Champagne grape varieties, once used in France; it is believed to be one of the only plantings in the country.

Based just outside West Chiltington in the heart of the Sussex wine community, Kinsbrook Vineyard is an experience-led vineyard focused on enabling people to drink the wine where it was grown and matured while enjoying local produce. The vineyard is setting out to be a premium visitor destination in England’s most influential wine-making area where guests can enjoy a complete experience encompassing wine, food, produce, family-friendly fun, events, and luxury lodge accommodation.
