Levellers have announced a special one-off show date

Levellers have announced a special one-off show date in aid of the leading mental health charity Mind at The Palladium London on Saturday 12 October 2019.

Joining them at the show will be English rockers Dodgy who will play their album HOMEGROWN in full.

Tickets go on sale on Friday 9 August at 10am via www.myticket.co.uk.

Commenting on this special show Levellers said: “We are really pleased to support Mind. We have, within the band, actually suffered from and indeed bonded over various mental health issues ourselves. That was one of the commonalities that brought us all together in the first place. So we believe that information about mental health is crucial, as is support for sufferers. And just bringing the whole subject into the mainstream…So we invite you to come on down to the London Palladium in October for a very special Levellers show, close to our hearts!”  – Jeremy (Levellers)

Brighton folk-rock band Levellers have worn many masks over many years – most self-made, others imposed upon them – but as their status has evolved the basic humanity underpinning their music has remained constant. Over their long career as a whole, the band has had eight Top 40 albums, including a number one with 1995’s ‘Zeitgeist’, and fourteen Top 40 singles.

Their landmark 1991 album ‘Levelling The Land’, now widely regarded as a classic, spent 38 weeks in the Top 100 album charts over a three-year period. Levellers celebrated their 30th anniversary in 2018 with a number of electric and acoustic shows plus the release of Top 20 album ‘We The Collective’, which saw the band transform classic tracks into new acoustic arrangements, resulting in their highest chart position in twenty years and widespread critical acclaim.

Levellers are still going strong after 30 years in the game… with their own label, recording studio and their own festival. The band will be playing a full electric set at a select number of venues and festivals in Summer 2019, with the special London show promising to be a lively occasion not to be missed.

Dodgy, who this year are celebrating the 25thanniversary of their breakthrough gold-selling second album Homegrown were together for seven years in the 90’s, releasing three albums totalling over a million sales worldwide. Their 1994 album Homegrown features the hit single ‘Staying Out for the Summer’ which was the band’s first Top 20 hit single. They quickly followed up in 1996 with album number three ‘Free Peace Sweet’ which spawned the hits ‘In a Room’, ‘Good Enough’ (which is officially one of the most played tracks on British radio in the last 20 years) and ‘If You’re Thinking of Me’.

Levellers are Mark Chadwick, Jeremy Cunningham, Charlie Heather, Jon Sevink, Simon Friend, and Matt Savage.
