Local gymnasts through to Regional team Finals and English Championships

Local gymnastics club, Dyson Gymnastics, saw four of their gymnasts qualify for the Regional team finals and English Championships held in Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham and Telford international Centre respectively in May and June.

The gymnasts competed at the South East regional qualifiers in Kent at the weekend against strong competition from 11 regional gymnastics clubs with upwards of 20 gymnasts per category.


Of Dyson’s qualifying gymnasts 3 won medals on Sunday with Bella Bowers (age 12) winning Gold, Alexander Hawkins (age 9) winning Silver and Emily Slater (age 10) winning Bronze. All 3 competitors were competing at Tumbling National level 1 and will go on to represent the South East of England at the Regional finals and Dyson gymnastics club at the English Championships, alongside their teammate Lara Clark (age 10). Separately to the qualifier categories Dyson Gymnastics also saw their club level gymnasts win, 3 Gold and 3 Bronze medals.

With over 650 children registered at the club Dyson Gymnastics have a team of 17 coaches tutoring children from ages 2-18. The club offers recreational classes as well as competitive squad sessions covering a range of disciplines including, Acro gymnastics, Tumbling, General and Artistic.
