March 2020 Exhibitions & Events at Colonnade House
What better way to welcome in Spring than at Colonnade House? This month you can explore group shows by local artists from Worthing Climate Action and Northbrook MET, as well as work from Worthing Light Festival 2019 winner, Mark Humphreys aka Howell.
The month will then end with Anna Vartiainen’s two-week multidisciplinary show that will explore whimsical woodlands and mythical monsters. Find all of this at Worthing’s creative hub.
Wonderful World

Group exhibition ‘Wonderful World’, addresses the climate crisis – an issue which affects all our lives. Local artists have responded to the climate emergency in various artistic approaches and mediums; such as textiles, film, photography, installation, printmaking, painting and sculpture.
Participating artists include: Lottie Bentham, Emma Cameron, Pip Carter, Michelle Furtado, Michelle Morrod, Delia Salter, Sarah Sepe, Eve Wade & Barry Williams in partnership with Worthing Climate Action.

Northbrook MET student and painter Kathryn Best returns to Colonnade House with her latest series of works alongside fellow students sculptor Rhianna Wass and multi-disciplinary artist Victoria Waldron, for a group exhibition, as they prepare for their final year of their Fine Art degree.

Worthing Light Festival 2019 winner Mark Howell Humphreys aka Howell is exhibiting his abstract expressionist paintings, using hand manufactured tools, to achieve energetic mark making. Freestyle also features work with friend and fellow artist Carolyn McConnell
Anna Vartiainen: Monster Trees & Other Stories

Artist and FOUND shop & studio owner, Anna Vartiainen says she still feels a childlike wonder in nature, and no walk is complete without stopping to photograph or draw interesting-looking trees and landscapes. This exhibition will be the first time Anna has shown how her ideas develop through paintings, drawings and screen prints as well as initial sketches. You’ll be able to find her in the gallery continuing to work on the project.
