Great Escape Line Up Announced
The first 100 bands for this summer’s Great Escape Festival have been announced, with BRIT award-winner Kelis headlining the first show at the Brighton Dome this May. The local bands encompassed in the line up include Traams, Beautiful Boy and Royal Blood.
The Wytches sign record deal
Brighton-based band The Wytches have released a free-to-download single Gravedweller in celebration of signing a deal with record company Heavenly Recordings. They also provide two B-side tracks; Carnival Law and Wide at Midnight, which will be available on cassette and given away on upcoming tour dates.
Dog in the Snow release ‘Factory’
Dog in the Snow singer Helen Ganya Brown has brought audiences to tears over the last year with her haunting vocals in the song Factory, which she has recently announced will be released through Tidal Wave Sounds. The Brighton-based performer will release the single on March 3 and you can hear the track at the Prince Albert when she performs on March 6.
New LGBT Festival in Brighton
Founders of Brighton’s popular Shakedown Festival are launching the ‘Takeover’ this month; a music festival for lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender students in Brighton on March 28. A single wristband will give free entry to nightclubs including Revenge, Charles Street and Legends.
