National family law firm opens an office in Brighton
Stowe Family Law (Stowe) – the UK’s largest specialist family law firm – has widened its nationwide presence by opening a new office in Brighton.
The Brighton office is the firm’s 39th nationally and part of its ongoing country-wide expansion, helping to provide much-needed reassurance in a time of continued anxiety for many couples who have felt the strain of the pandemic on their relationships.
Since the global public health disaster struck, enquiries into the firm from across the southwest have increased by 53%*. Research looking into the motivations behind this increase conducted by the firm revealed that of those relationships that had been negatively affected by the pandemic, over 70% had not had any issues before. With 35% of people citing financial pressures as the reason for their relationship breakdown.
The Brighton office is headed up by the new appointment of Senior Solicitor Gemma Thew who is experienced in all aspects of family law, including advising and representing clients in the process of divorce, unmarried separation, civil partnerships, financial settlements and child law matters.
Gemma will be supported by Partner Niahm McCarthy, Senior Solicitors Gemma Artus and Sarah Hodges and Solicitors Nicola Beasley and Harriet Donovan.
Gemma said:
“I’m thrilled to join Stowe and head up their first office in Brighton. I have practised family law in the area for more than 9 years and look forward to continuing to support clients across the region. As part of the country’s largest specialist family law firm, we can offer people who live in Brighton and the surrounding areas access to an unrivalled nationwide network of knowledge and experience on their doorstep.”
Emma Newman, Managing Partner at Stowe, said:
“As the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic continues, we are still seeing a sharp rise in enquiries across all our offices. Opening the new office in Brighton and strengthening our regional presence on the southwest coast allows us to maintain the highest support levels for people going through a divorce or separation throughout the pandemic and beyond.
I am delighted to welcome Gemma to the firm. Her experience in family law and knowledge will complement our existing offering and help clients to achieve their desired outcomes.”
