New Arctic Retreat Opening This December
A new haven of luxury and indulgence has been launched in Swedish Lapland where two traditional Arctic log cabins, hidden deep in the forest and on the banks of a local river, have been remastered into a new and exclusive retreat for visitors.
“This is exactly the experience we have been searching for combining the adventure of the Arctic with the luxury that would rival any top end travel experience; and the isolation of a remote and secluded renovated log cabin,” says Jonny Cooper, Arctic travel expert and founder of Off the Map Travel. “It’s a perfect luxury haven in the midst of pristine Arctic wilderness where guests can be hidden away to enjoy a personal hosted service, fine food and an array of Arctic activities, spa experiences topped off with your own personal hot tub.”
The new Arctic Retreat lodge is tucked away deep in the forest at the foot of the Raven rapid in the Råne River valley of Swedish Lapland. Owned by a local family, it was the inspiration of Liza, Niklas and their son Rio Wede who moved from the city of Luleå to the countryside to fulfill a lifetime dream.
The authentic luxury lodge is split into the two traditional log cabins sleeping up to nine guests. Hosted by experienced and talented locals, including Thomas a talented chef who creates local specialties using local ingredients, with staff always on hand to ensure that every need is met.
Eric Borg, one of the founders of the new Arctic Retreat project added; “We have spared no expense in bringing the ultimate Arctic experience to the region from the floor to ceiling windows looking out into the endless surrounding forest, to the hanging fireplace. The lodge is a place removed from the busy world that surrounds it; it’s a haven to relax; it’s a place from which to explore; and a place through which we want to share our Arctic lifestyle.”
The new lodge includes a wall of large panoramic windows facing north for ideal for hunting the Northern Lights; a free hanging fireplace, cozy interior decor inspired by local artists, a private outdoor hot tub on each cabins’ terrace, spa treatments, wood-fired sauna, privately guided outdoor activities and an indoor and outdoor lounge area, all delivered from its idyllic and remote Arctic wilderness setting.
Combined with its luxury fittings and service, the new Arctic Retreat lodge has also got equally impressive eco credentials. Jonny Cooper of Off the Map Travel, adds; “Knowing that your stay has a limited impact on the environment adds to the ‘back to nature feeling’ from the lodge, yet doesn’t detract from truly luxury experience it offers.”
Available to book from 15th December 2017, and bookable throughout the year the Arctic Retreat can be included in any Arctic itinerary crossing Norway Sweden and Finland. A three-night itinerary with Off the Map Travel (www.offthemap.travel) staying at the new Arctic Retreat costs from £1988 per person based on two people sharing. This includes exclusive use of the lodge, snowshoeing, skiing, ice skating, ice fishing and private transfers. Not including flights.
