Revolution launches UK’s most sustainable Pornstar Martini saving the planet one passionfruit at a time

Revolution, the experts in unforgettable nights out, has become the first major bar business in the UK to banish the passionfruit garnish from its Pornstar Martini.

The passionfruit garnish, the majority of which is imported from South America, is used purely as decoration, with syrups and mixers providing the full flavour. The garnish is typically discarded by the majority of drinkers and will now be replaced by a rice paper topper promoting a sustainable message.

Revolution’s sister bar, Revolución de Cuba, the authentic Cuban bar experience, is also removing the passionfruit garnish from its Rumtini cocktails.

Selling a whooping 1.2million Pornstar Martini and Rumtini cocktails annually across 67 venues, Revolution and Revolución de Cuba were using an average of 36 tons of passionfruit.

This latest move will save over half a million passionfruit per year[1] and reduce the bar group’s carbon footprint by more than 100 tons of CO2.

The UK’s most sustainable Pornstar Martini is available now, and for those not looking to imbibe this Dry January, the ‘Saintly Pornstar’ is launching on the 18th January – created using a combination of beautifully blended juices to deliver a completely alcohol-free alternative. The Saintly Pornstar will also feature the brand-new rice paper topper instead of a passionfruit garnish.

Operator of both Revolution and Revolución de Cuba, the removal of passionfruit garnishes is part of Revolution Bars Group’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and a fundamental promise is to be a Net Zero business before 2030.
