Simon Webster Hair from Brighton has WON 2nd place overall in the hairdressing industries longest running and most fashion led awards, the 2016 L’Oréal Colour Trophy Awards after being named the top in their region and winning the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Southern Regional Award 2016.
On Monday 13th June, 2016 the salons creative 6-month journey came to a dramatic finale at the O2 Intercontinental Hotel, London. Simon Webster Hair will now take their new title onwards and upwards into an exciting year ahead.
Over 1500 of the hairdressing industries most acclaimed and famous figures filled the dazzling venue with immense applause as Simon Webster Hair rushed to the stage to collect their iconic award. TV & Radio Presenter Nick Grimshaw and Richard Ward of Richard Ward Hair & Metro Spa handed the team their award during a moment they will never forget.

The Simon Webster Hair team created a fashion focused model look that took the judging panel by storm and ensured them a prominent place amongst the 36 grand finalists from across the UK.
The journey for Simon Webster Hair began back in January when, filled with hope and determination they entered their photographic image in to the first round of this iconic competition. Their stunning model look stood out amongst over 1000 entries and secured them a place in the second round – the Live Regional finals held in nine locations across the UK. Competing against 35 other teams in the Southern region, the team produced once again impressed the judges with their hairdressing skills and won one of only 4 places at the Grand Final.
During the intense grand final competition day held at the L’Oréal International Academy tension built as an elite panel of highly successful, world renowned hairdressers were brought in to ensure each model infused the three elements of a precision cut, flawless looking colour and catwalk inspired styling. The judges, leaders in the industry, included: Issie Churcher from HOB, Steve Rowbottom from Westrow, Paul Dennison from Ken Picton, Errol Douglas MBE, Richard Ward and Adam Reed from Percy & Reed who were given the task of selecting the winner from the final 36 finalists.
The 2016 L’Oréal Colour Trophy Grand Final took place at the O2 Intercontinental Hotel, London where the glamorous event was brought to a tremendous close as Simon Webster Hair was announced winners of the Southern region and presented their award by judge Adam Reed of Percy & Reed. The team didn’t stay in their seat long before their names were called out again having narrowly missed out on the top spot to come 2nd place overall in the 2016 L’Oréal Colour Trophy. Considering that nearly 1000 hairdressers from across the UK entered these awards, the achievement of the salon is incredible.
The esteemed judging panel each agreed that Simon Webster Hair had perfectly met the brief, the model look was a fantastic example of beautifully executed colour and demonstrated a clear understanding of the latest trends.
