Spanish bridal brand, Jesus Peiro introduces their SS20 collection entitled ‘Cala’.

The new collection was inspired by a visit to the Musée d ́Orsay, the largest impressionist collection in the world. There theattitude of the women depicted in the paintings and the decomposition of the light led the way to the discovery of a flower that was closely associated with impressionism: the cala lily.

Jesus Peiro, founded in 1988 is devoted to dressing brides, positioning themselves as a specialist brand in bridalwear. All dresses are designed and manufactured in Spain, creating collections where the quality of the finish is close to that of haute couture. Jesus Peiro are proud to be the only Spanish bridal brand to have achieved the prestigious “Made in Spain” accreditation mark, certifying the provenance of each gown being made to the highest ethical standards.

The sophistication of the line, the harmony in the interplay of the volumes and textiles, the superb care of the finish always carried out by hand, the exclusive adornments and an elegantly refined style make up the core identity of Jesus Peiro. The brand’s collections, designed by Merche Segarra, are conceived for a woman who demands high product quality, who values elegance, follows new trends and who wishes to wear a bridal brand with its own identity.

For SS20 designer, Jesus Peiro has used the calla lily to shape the lines of the collection: its profile is portrayed in the crepe silhouettes, its organic shape inspires the volumes of the gowns and its whiteness lends nuance to the dresses, except for the small golden tones that recreate the amazing pistils of the flower.

Beautiful and white, just like calla lilies.

The silhouettes are based on a combination of structure and light, at the same time making use of the defined drape of the fabric and the oversized volumes that are in Vogue. Fabrics that lend movement to a skirt or make a shoulder cape fly, puff a sleeve or wave a flounce. The result is a collection that takes us on a voyage to a new concept of personalising a bride’s individual look and influencing the way in which the clothes are styled.

Key pieces for SS20 are coordinates and two-pieces, as well as overskirts and capelets. Sleeves are also one of the highlights of a collection that gives the utmost importance to the back of the gown, exactly where the design of the dress begins. Split skirts and draping add a sort of flirty elegance, while pockets incorporate a touch of design and modernity.

As for the fabrics, crêpe, tulle, silk and taffeta predominate the collection. Lace helps create a sheer naked effect by playing with transparencies and details such as beaded tassels and bright adornments like sequins or glitter add their own brush strokes of light to the dresses.

The brand has become a point of reference in the Bridal sector, both in Spain and internationally due to its reputation for quality and the creation of a collection conceived to cover the beauty needs and characteristics of the national and international market. In Spain, Jesus Peiro has their own flagship store in Barcelona and 5 franchises in important Spanish cities Jesus Peiro are proud to work with around 40 of the best independent bridal retailers in the UK who share their commitment to excellence of product and customer service.
