Taj’s Tea Parlour is based in central Brighton, 17 Brighton Square BN1 to be exact.
We provide a bespoke service for hen dos, with a vintage feel. The hen party is a high tea, tea party. I work closely with the organiser of the party to insure that they will receive a do to remember. As this is a bespoke service, it means that the high tea will be based on the bride to be’s favourite era, or just her loves, with all of her favourite foods included, while I devise a cocktail for them based on this too.
The same goes for weddings of course, which we also style and cater for, although these are not necessarily always in a vintage style.
At the shop, where we cater for the hen dos (the weddings are on site and so the numbers are up to the bride and groom), the minimum number of guests we have is eight and the maximum is 25.
What makes Taj’s Tea Parlour so unique firstly, is the surroundings of the shop. All of the pieces have been lovingly picked by me. We also play swinging Jazz gently in the background as it is relaxing for customers and transports you to another era instantly.
In terms of the service that we are offering for hen parties and weddings, we use top quality ingredients. Mostly organic, free range and local where possible as this is something that is very important to my heart, good food!
I love to bake and to cook, so there is a lot of thought, love and care put into what I am serving people. We cater for Gluten free guests and recently did a totally gluten free hen do! I think that flavour and freshness are so very important, it sounds simple but it’s integral to good tasting food.
I enjoy the creativity of designing a menu that is very specific to one couple and their guests. The styling of the event is just an extension of the creativity and having it all in keeping with one another – the food, drinks and table styling – is the optimum.
