The search for Sussex’s Lockdown Legend is on

It’s fair to say 2020 has been one of the most trying years with the chaos and heartache that COVID-19 has caused for so many. However, the pandemic has also made many communities stronger than ever before and hundreds of people have gone the extra mile to truly ‘love thy neighbour’. Now, Sussex residents are being encouraged to nominate anyone they know who has stepped up during this crisis and deserves recognition for their efforts; anyone who they deem a ‘Lockdown Legend’.

Sponsored by No-One, a new top-secret Sussex service set to launch in the new year, to celebrate the many acts of kindness and community spirit throughout the crisis, people of any age can be nominated to be a Lockdown Legend, as long as they live and have helped residents within the county.

Maybe a local student went out of their way to pick up and deliver groceries to those most vulnerable, perhaps someone down your street volunteered to help the NHS, or set up local volunteer networks, or maybe a young child helped fundraise with sponsored activities or bake sales. Whatever people did to go out of their way to help, No-One wants to hear about it.

A spokesperson for No-One, said: “We know there are thousands of individuals across Sussex who have made personal sacrifices to help others. The community spirit we have seen, and continue to see, is absolutely incredible and we just wanted to do something to recognise these Lockdown Legends. We’re looking forward to celebrating these individuals’ achievements and can’t wait to see the nominations.”

Details of the top three nominations (as chosen by No-One’s management team) will be announced via their Facebook page, and the public will be asked to vote for the person they feel deserves to receive an incredible Christmas hamper of prizes.

Each nomination must be for a Sussex resident and should highlight what they have done to earn the title of Sussex’s Lockdown Legend, as well as contact details for both the nominee and the nominator.

Nominations should be emailed to Noone@pmwcom.co.uk by midnight on Sunday 29th November 2020.
