The spectacular statistics of Kylian Mbappé

Since earlier this month, the biography of Kylian Mbappé (20 years old) is available in French bookstores. Among other things, detailed figures in the dizzying contract of the French star player came to light. And yes, the young Frenchman makes a lot of money; Mbappé earns more than 1.4 million euros gross monthly. At this age, no player has achieved this before. Is he worth all that money? Well… Let’s have a look at some spectacular statistics about the player.

Better than Messi and Ronaldo

Kylian Mbappe has a better scoring record than Ronaldo and Messi at age 21. Sure, the Ligue 1 is not the most competitive league in the world but at just 20 years old, scoring 36 goals in just 41 appearances is simply remarkable. Statistics that make him one of the most valuable goalscorers. At Paris Saint-Germain, he is supposed to be playing in the shadows of more-established players like Edinson Cavani and Neymar. Instead, he’s the one in the spotlight.

Faster than Usain Bolt

Kylian Mbappe recorded a speed of 38 km/h in the game against Monaco – which is faster than Usain Bolt during his 100m world record. Mbappe scored a hat-trick against his ex-team Monaco on Sunday the 21st of April as PSG went into the game having already been crowned Ligue 1 champions. After this amazing performance, Kylian Mbappe now has recorded one of the fastest speeds on a football pitch.

Most valuable player in the world

That’s why Mbappe is now the most valuable player in the world, before Neymar and Kane. In its latest report, the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) estimated the values of the world’s top players in each position, with Mbappe topping the forward’s category and the overall category. The highest valued player is now the French forward Kylian Mbappe. He took the spot of Paris Saint-Germain teammate Neymar who fell to third, just behind World Cup golden boot winner Harry Kane.

What does all of this do to a 20-year old? It’s not gotten to his head and is quite the opposite. The PSG striker Mbappe is viewed as a future Ballon d’Or winner by many, but the Frenchman insists Messi and Ronaldo’s talents are superior to his. When asked who he’d rather have in his team, Messi or Ronaldo, Mbappe insisted he couldn’t choose and would willingly bench himself to accommodate the superstar duo in his team. “To choose one would be an insult to everything that the other has achieved”, he went on saying.
