SIMON CARTER EXPANDS TO BRIGHTON
Brighton’s menswear is about to step up a level following to the arrival of Simon Carter Clothing and Accessories in the North Laines.
Situated on Kensington Gardens, the British accessory and tailoring label is expanding its retail portfolio, with four stores already in London, one apiece in Buckinghamshire and Yorkshire respectively as well as another in Toronto, Canada.
Carter, who has been a regular visitor to Brighton since his childhood, has been keen to set up by the seaside for some time, as he explains: “It’s been in my mind to set up a store here for three or four years. It was just a question of finding the right location, because it’s vital for me to have elegant premises.”
With its ebullient, quirky English style, it is sure to fit in with Brighton’s contemporary flair and is already a hit with the city’s fashion fans.

LIDO WORTH ITS SALT
A band of determined volunteers could be set to save the Saltdean Lido after years of work to secure its future achieved a first round of funding.
A £440,000 grant from the Social Investment Bank will fund a new plant room for the pool and some patch-up work on the pool itself so it can open next summer.
However, the Saltdean Lido Community Interest Company still have a long way to go, with the total cost of renovating the Lido and its beautiful modernist building set at some £10 million.
Although further funding applications have already been submitted you can do your bit to help the Saltdean Lido.
All you have to do is watch ITV Meridian West on Monday 24 November at 6.30pm and vote for the lido to win £50,000 from the competition being run. You can also help out by coming along to the fundraising food market and car boot sale which is taking place on the lido car park on Saturday November 29 from 10am – 2pm.
