Wild Life festival brings the celebration to the South Coast second year running – before ever needing to walk – after selling out 2015 in 72 hours, firmly grounding its Best New Festival status from the UK Festival Awards at Brighton City Airport, 11th – 12th June. Under the tutelage of top-tier acts and curators Disclosure and Rudimental, the festival will be flying in many of music’s leading lights when it lands in its hype-worthy hanger.
Festival fans won’t find another seaside escape packing this much musical punch this Summer, with Wild Life’s two curating champions backed up by an uncompromising cast of current and classic talent. Under the glare of it’s four stages revelers will be in the hottest place of the British Summer, rain or shine with grime grandee Skepta, hip-hop Kings of old and new school Ice Cube, Busta Rhymes and Pusha T, reanimated hip-hop hit-makers De La Soul, champions of the club with Ibiza icon himself Carl Cox, as well as class-of-their-own chart toppers James Bay and Bastille among those on point to deliver a scorcher.
Further even to that, the elemental force of legendary disco outfit Earth, Wind & Fire are aboard for a masterclass in jazz, funk and R & B, with further headline performances coming from bass figureheads Andy C and DJ EZ. Atop of all these, local collective and cherished community project the Shoreham All Stars will make their return after impressing organisers last year.
The promoters can pride themselves on a reputation as the pick of friendly festivals too, praised as a resounding success last year for its good natured crowd. Brighton City Airport were also very happy with the operation and festival organisers couldn’t have been more pleased with the facilities as it lent itself well to the event. Whilst the stages featured huge screens, phenomenal light shows and a huge PA system, the concerns of residents over noise were very well managed.
Also continuing will be the local box office program, ensuring residents of the area are the priority when sales open. Brighton City Airport’s Main Terminal will be the site for locals to get themselves booked in for 2016, Wednesday to Saturday week of on sale, with the bonus of no booking fees on cash only purchases. Steve Walton said of the scheme, “It’s great news that we are returning to Shoreham again in 2016. As a thank you for the support of local residents we will be running our box office again over the week of on sale.”
